John Diamond Memorial Trophy

On Monday 15th July, Dunnerholme Juniors competed for the ‘John Diamond Memorial Trophy’, kindly sponsored by Terry Stokes. The competition is played as a team event, with the junior squad divided into teams of six.

Competition was keen, and in the end, only four points separated the teams.
The frequent showers didn’t dampen their spirits, and there were some impressive golf shots on display, evidence that all the coaching and practice sessions were showing results.

Team Results

1st Team Coverdale – Morgan, Annie, Millie, Kate, Oliver and Dexter- 42 points

2nd Team Brough – Amber, Esme, Arthur, Jack, Emily and Bobby – 40 points

3rd Team Porter– Harrison, Sam, Harry, Oscar and Theo – 39 points

4th Team Pearce – Brad, Max, Libby, George, Oscar and Evan – 38 points

Mark Diamond presented the trophy to the winning team and thanked Dunnerholme for their support organising the competition, in memory of his Dad, John. He complimented the Junior Section on their commitment to improve and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

All participants received a goody bag, kindly donated by Rachel and Tom Butler and a sleeve of balls donated by Stuart McAloone – thank you for your support. Thank you also to Dean for the photographs, the coaches and overseers for their time, dedication, encouragement and organisation.

Special thanks to Mark Diamond and Terry Stokes for the lovely trophy and Sponsorship of this new event in the Junior Calendar, in memory of John Diamond, Mark’s Dad.
