President’s Day 2022

Mr President, Geoff Pearce couldn’t have planned his 2022 President’s day any better!
Glorious weather in the week prior to President’s day was perfect for all the preparations and the course looked outstanding, with superb greens.

The week began with Dunnerholme Juniors playing for the Presidents Junior Trophy.
Max Broome had a lovely game, winning with 43 points.
Runners up, also with 43 points, after a card play-off were Noah Harrison and Annie Coward.
Eddie Fuglar and Morgan Postlethwaite were third with 42 points.
Nearest the Pin on the 4th was Sam Pearson and on the 10th, Finley Longmire.

On Saturday August 13th, the Men played in the President’s Day Medal Competition.
The theme for the day was HOLIDAYS, with the Prize Hampers containing food & drink from different countries.
Over 70 competitors took to the links, which were firm and dry requiring accurate golf, if the ball strayed far off the fairway Dunnerholme was very unforgiving.
Andrew Rigg was on top form, shooting a 65 net to take the First Prize and the President’s Cup.
Jamie Frankland was runner up with 67 net and John Flynn 3rd after a card play off, 67 net.
The Best Gross prize was won by Karl Shepherd with 71 gross.
Mr President also provided 2 further prizes – Nearest The Line on 8th which was won by Ged Cush and Nearest the Pin on 14th, won by Gareth Warren with an unbeatable Hole-In-One.
There were also 4 x 2’s on the day – Andrew Rigg, Graham Woods, Neil Cook and Brian Mulholland.

Mr President’s Ladies’ Prize was won by Christine Burton with a net 70.
Festivities continued on into the evening after the Presentation, with everyone making full use of the New Terrace in the sweltering conditions.
