Rotary Club of Barrow Ladies Open
Barrow Rotary Club flags were flying at Dunnerholme for the second running of the Rotary Ladies Open. A gusting wind and heavy cloud greeted the morning competitors, but as the day went on, early players, proved to have the better conditions as the weather worsened in the afternoon, and temperatures dropped with occasional showers.
However some credible scores were returned.
Early Morning Starters
Two nearest the pin prizes were on offer with Angie Hill hitting nearest the pin with her second shot to the 7th green
Gill Newsome closest on the 14th.
Gill and her playing partner Elizabeth Gibson went on to win the trophy with 43points.
Runners up with 42 points were Paula Knott and Elizabeth Dixon.
Third position was a card play off between three pairs with Julie Walker, Ulverston GC, and partner Rose Kelly, Barrow GC, eventually taking third position after a count back.

Gill thanked Dave Coverdale of Barrow Rotary and their sponsor Furness Plastics, for hosting the event at Dunnerholme.
Special thanks to Dunnerholme Ladies Committee and Officers for running the Competition, and for providing food and refreshments throughout the day. She hoped The Barrow Rotary Ladies Open would be on the Dunnerholme fixture list for many years to come.
