Yuletide with Dunnerholme Ladies
The Ladies gathered on Sunday morning for “Santa’s Scramble”.
Fortified by Bacon and Sausage buns, they bravely set forth in the aftermath of Darragh, to play Nine Holes. The pros – no rain and a short course. The cons – a bitterly cold wind and water underfoot.
The Gallant Girls persevered, returning home, some with ruddy cheeks and some with wet feet. The tempting aroma of Mulled Wine simmering in the Clubhouse, and a spread of pigs in blankets, cranberry meatballs, savoury pastries, quiche, festive bites and dips and Christmas cake and mince pies was very welcoming and very well received. Joining the golfers for lunch were some of the walking wounded, it was great to see Sheila and Meg back at Dunnerholme.
Warmed and well fed, Lady Captain presented the Winners with their lovely Christmas prizes, kindly donated by Lynda. Official duties completed, the fun and games began.
Thank you Gill, tremendous fun, organised to perfection, as always.
Merry Christmas everyone.
