Lady Captain’s Day 2026

Saturday 6th June dawned grey, rainy and windy with the prospect of wet conditions for the Dunnerholme Ladies playing in the Lady Captain’s Competition.

After Meet and Greet, the Ladies kitted out in full wet weather gear teed off.

However the Golfing Gods got their act together and the weather cleared for a finish on the Terrace in the sun

H and D Catering put on a celebratory spread, finishing with a delicious fruit Pavlova as the crowning glory.

Lady Captain welcomed the players, members and friends to the Presentation, with special thanks to everyone who had helped with organising her Captain’s Day, and to the green staff who had presented the course to its very best.

Lady Captain’s theme for her year is “Homegrown” and the prize table reflected that. With boxes of garden vegetables from Tyron and Karens Allotment together with lovely watches.
Nearest the pin on the 14th was Larraine Morrison with a great shot within 8ft
Pat Barton won Third prize with a Net 75 and Runner up was Mary Doherty Net 71.

Winner of The Lady Captain’s Cup and First Prize was Chris Pearce.
Chris had an exceptional round Net 66.
“Greens in regulation” was the mantra, as Chris played straight and long from the tee, a great game of golf.

The evening continued with music, golf quizzes and a nostalgic slide show “Dunnerholme Ladies over the Years”with drinks on the terrace in the evening sunshine.
