Welcome to the Dunnerholme Golf Club
Dunnerholme Rock, from which the Golf Club gets its name, is a limestone outcrop that projects out in to the Estuary and forms a challenging part of the course.
The flat top of the rock is a strategic feature of the club’s signature Par 3, sixth hole – from the top, on a clear day, the panoramic view over the Duddon Sands to the Lakeland fells and mountains is spectacular.
The ten hole golf course, unique in Cumbria, has eighteen tees ensuring that the holes repeated offer a different perspective second time round. Tide and prevailing winds add to the challenge – but the shelter of the mass of Black Combe provides means the course seldom has to close for bad weather.
Over the years, the club has grown and invested in its unique setting, and we were delighted be one of four finalists for England Golf Club of the Year in 2021.
but delightful course
The course layout is over a hundred years old , but it is kept in tip-top condition by our team of specialised green-staff – who also help preserve a haven for wildlife around the course edges. Improvements have made Dunnerholme a good challenge for the modern golfer – and a revamped area around the club house is a great place to relax!
