Easter Sunshine for Welcome Lady Captain

Dunnerholme was at its glorious best for the first competition of the golfing year – The “Lady Captain’s Drive In”. The Dunnerholme Juniors were on hand to welcome the 2024 Lady Captain Mary Doherty, and provide a guard of honour with their drivers and present her with a bouquet.

The Ladies section dressed for the occasion – Country & Western being the Lady Captain’s chosen theme.

All the ladies gathered on the first, to mark “ the spot” where they hoped Lady Captain’s drive from the tee would settle. The prize being a Chocolate Easter Egg. After which followed a Texas Scramble and the teams set off in the best Easter weather.

A ‘Ranch Style ‘ buffet courtesy of Andrew Webber, was waiting for the players when they came in from the course.

Lady Captain presented the winners with prizes. Gill Newsome winner of Lady Captains Drive, and Nearest the Pin, and was part of the winning team with – Karen Currie, Liz Gibson and Lynne Diggle .

Chris Pearce led the Line Dancing, Dunnerholme Ladies demonstrating their skills or their enthusiasm!
