The Warmest of Welcomes from the Dunnerholme Golf Club

The members and staff of Dunnerholme Golf Club offer a warm and friendly welcome to every visitor. We endeavour to make your visit as enjoyable as possible and we are continually striving to improve our course and facilities.

Buggies are available and visiting parties of 8 people or more can be catered for (see below for more details).

The Dunnerholme Golf course is available for any player who possesses a handicap certificate, a golf club membership or member of a Golf Society.

    Hickory Golf Club Hire

    We offer the hire of original 1900’s Hickory Golf Clubs to visitors who are members of an Affiliated Golf Club and would like to experience how golf was played back in the day.

    We have 2 sets available for hire at £20 per set plus green fees

    There is no option for cash or card payment at the course – please book and pay online
    All tee times must be booked. Please ensure all players have their digital confirmation of booking.

    From 1.00pm – LADIES have priority on the tee

    Competition Day – Course closed until 5.00pm.

    Sunday

    10.00am – 11.30am LADIES Competition Day

    Visitor Rules

    There is a registration procedure for all Visitors. For Insurance purposes (and in the interest of health and safety), we must be aware of who is on the course. When completing the online booking process, full contact details must be completed. 

    • We do not insist on handicap certificates but expect all visitors to be competent golfers and preferably to be members of a recognised golf club.
    • Repair pitch marks on greens and replace divots.
    • Switch off your mobile phone.
    • Do not leave litter, empty bottles etc, on the course. Take your litter home with you, or use the litter baskets where available.
    • Please remember to give way to green staff working on the course.
    • Strictly observe the rules of golf, the etiquette of golf and all course notices.
    • Maintain an acceptable standard of appearance on the course and in the clubhouse.
    • Avoid slow play. A four ball should be able to complete the course in or around 4 hours.

    PLEASE BE AWARE OF WALKERS on the public footpaths which cross the course

    For all packages, pre booking is essential. Non-Returnable Deposit £5.00 per head on booking.

    Attractions in and around Askam

    Dock Museum:
    The popular museum focuses on Barrow’s shipbuilding industry, the Victorian iron and steel works, and the history of the Furness area.

    Furness Abbey:
    The abbey, founded in 1137, was once the second richest and most powerful Cistercian monastery in the country.

    South Lakes Wild Animal Park:
    See tigers and other big cats, giraffes, rhinos, penguins, rare red pandas and hundreds more animals at one of the prize attractions of the Furness area.

    Piel Island:
    Piel Island is situated at the southern tip of the Furness peninsula and is accessible by passenger ferry from Roa Island. The island has a castle, built by the monks of Furness Abbey, and a king — the landlord of the island’s pub is traditionally crowned as King of Piel.
