DUNNERHOLME JUNIOR CAPTAINS DAY

DUNNERHOLME JUNIOR CAPTAINS DAY – Friday 20th June

On a glorious and sunny Friday afternoon, 24 juniors participated in this competition with two competitions running in parallel.

A 9-Hole handicap competition and a Sixes team event (inc a putting challenge)

Mr Captain and Lorraine kindly donated goody bags for all the juniors prior to playing and all cheered on the 9-Hole competitors on the 1st tee, before proceeding to their team competition.

The teams 5 players of 4 (Teams – Brough, Clinton, Coverdale, Pearce & Porter) were supported by coaches, friends and family throughout the evening.

Results – Team Event

1st Team Porter – 274pts (Esme Porter, Theo Gordon, Myles Bradley, Harry Anderson)

2nd Team Pearce – 270pts

3rd Team Clinton – 269pts

4th Team Coverdale – 257pts

5th Team Brough – 253pts

In the putting challenge, Evan Coward & George Kavanagh got holes in one with George top scoring with 45pts in a closely thought challenge.

Maggie Butler won the NTP on the 10th winning a prize donated by Derek Clinton.

In the Handicap competition in very humid conditions, yet another close match:-

1st Morgan Postlethwaite – 22pts

2nd Max Porter – 21pts

3rd Dexter Stoker – 18pts

4th Sophie Ackred – 17pts

The juniors were then treated to hot dogs and snacks kindly donated by Mr Captain & Lorraine.

Mr Captain gave out the prizes which included medals for all competitors.

A great day was had by all and thanks go out to all juniors, helpers, coaches, parents who made this such a wonderful event.

Maggie Butler & George Kavanagh gave gifts to Mr Captain & Lorraine for putting on the event and their continued support to the junior section.
