DUNNERHOLME JUNIORS KEEP THEIR COOL

On a lovely sunny afternoon @ Ulverston GC, 24 youngsters competed for the overall league title with three teams on level points at the start of play (Dunnerholme Greens, Ulverston Reds & Ulverston Blacks).

With all to play for, you could sense the tension and see the concentration levels across the teams. As always the course was in excellent condition and even the longer yardages failed to deter our juniors. A gentle breeze kept the players nice and cool in the humid conditions.

So after 90mins of battle the results were registered and only 3 points separated 1st and 2nd place.

Overall results

1st – Dunnerholme Greens – 122pts

2nd – Ulverston Reds – 119pts

3rd – Ulverston Blacks – 114pts

4th – Dunnerholme Oranges – 97pts

Medal Winners

Greens – Morgan Postlethwaite & Harry Mason

Oranges – Oliver Pearce & Jack Ritchie

As always the Juniors were a credit to the club and played in true sporting spirit.

The result means that Dunnerholme Greens win the Sixes Trophy for the second year running. The win was even more special considering that of the team from 2024 only 2 players played, with seven of the squad progressing from the oranges this year.

May need a bigger trophy cabinet!!!!

All players received a certificate for participating.

Bart and I would like to express our gratitude and thanks to all Juniors, Parents, Grandparents, family and all who’ve supported our wonderful juniors this year in the sixes, the juniors are a credit to the club and bodes well for the future.
