Dunnerholme Ladies Away Day

Early on Friday morning the 19th August the Dunnerholme Ladies set off to Sedbergh for the annual Lady Captain’s Away Day Trip.
Twelve intrepid golfers boarded the minibus for an exciting ride to Sedbergh, the minibus was late, so time had to be made up.
The Ladies arrived in time for Bacon Butties and Coffee, before teeing off in three balls, for a single stableford competition and a “Yellow Ball ” team score. The course was in amazing condition, there was hardly a divot mark to be seen on the fairways and the greens, although hollow tyned, looked and played well. The weather was fair with a breeze and sunny intervals, perfect golfing weather, which was reflected in some nice competitive scores.
After the game, and a very welcome two course meal. Lady Captain presented the winners with their prizes.
Mary Doherty won the overall Stableford Competition with 43 points, Larraine Morrison second with 39 points and Liz Dixon third, with 36 points. The winning team with the best score of 41 points for the Yellow Ball – Pat Barton, Heather Hendley and Gill Newsome.
Another successful trip for the Ladies, very many thanks to Irene Lady Captain, for organising yet another great “Jolly” for the Ladies Section.
