The Jubilee 2022 Panama Open

The sun shone on the field of Panama Players for the 10th staging of the Panama Open in memory of Brian Readett. Three Generations of the Readett Family came to the club to celebrate the occasion, Val, his son Shaun and grandson Brian.
Dunnerholme shone in the morning sunshine, the course looked superb. The wind strengthened after lunch and the course proved more exacting for those playing in the afternoon,
The 8.00am tee time produced the winning round, Ian Jones and Mark Barrett (Dunnerholme) Zach Walker (Furness) and Ash Tyson (Ulverston) came in with a great score of 89 points, which proved to be unbeatable over the day. Zach Walker making short work of the 6th with a 2.
Second was Alan Haines, Nigel Duffin, Sid Phizacklea and Will Coates a very creditable 84 points.
It was a close run thing for third with Andrew Rigg, Gordon Brackwell, Kenny Bower and Martin O’Connor scoring 83 points with a better back nine.
There were Seven Two’s – Steve Wall, Lewis Pratt on the 4th, Zach Walker on the 6th, Graham Allen, Martin Porter, Gordon Brackwell, Geoff Pearce on the 14th. Gary Regan was nearest the pin on the 14th.

Val Readett presented the winners with their prizes. A memorable competition on a Memorable Jubilee Weekend.
