Celebrations at Dunnerholme

Dunnerholme Golf Club has hosted the County of Cumbria Captain’s & Lady Captain’s 4BBB Trophy, a competition that originated from Appleby GC in 2007. Five Cumbrian golf clubs were represented – Casterton GC, Furness GC, Grange Over Sands GC and Ulverston GC. Dunnerholme Captain and Lady Captain, Irene & Bill Brough welcomed the visiting Captains prior to the game, thanking DGC Lady Vice Captain, Gill Newsome and husband, Ken Newsome for providing a ’card marker’. The wind made playing conditions difficult but the course and greens were presented in great condition. After the game catering was provided and enjoyed by local company, Southwards Barn now known as ’Platform One’. Following on from the 2021 success for Dunnerholme at Furness GC, the result was a celebration for the home club, with Irene and Billy scoring 42 points to lift the trophy.
