Duddon Inshore Rescue Open 2023

The weather forecast deteriorated as the weekend approached but this didn’t deter Dunnerholme Members and Visitors from turning out, in force, to support one of their favourite local charities.
Duddon Inshore Rescue is celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 2023 and Dunnerholme GC was delighted to join in with their celebrations.
Ninety golfers tee’d off, with the early starters having the worst of the weather. The overnight rain continued relentlessly through the morning, but by lunchtime, the clouds cleared, the rain stopped and the sun finally, broke through. The afternoon competitors certainly enjoyed the better weather and the scores reflected just that.
By early evening the clubhouse and patio were packed with golfers, enjoying the evening sunshine, and waiting for the last competitors to finish.
Twelve hours after the first players left the first tee, Dunnerholme Club Captain Alan Bolton welcomed everyone to the Presentation. The packed clubhouse cheered when Alan announced that an amazing total of £1,407.00 had been raised from the competition entry and raffle. Ian Standing and Neil Hargreaves accepted the donation on behalf of the Duddon Inshore Rescue Association, and thanked everyone for their support over many years.
The winners of the Duddon Inshore Rescue Open 2023, came from the final group out on the course.
