Juniors Report

A very excited group of 24 Dunnerholme Juniors travelled by coach, to Casterton Golf Club, for their annual summer outing. The Casterton Course was in amazing condition, with sunshine bathing the course and intermittent heavy showers. The morning golf competitions were followed by lunch in the clubhouse, an afternoon of foot golf and in true Dunnerholme tradition, a quiz on the coach on the way home, organised by Martin Porter. 

Singles Competition Winner -1st Dexter Stoker scoring 54, 2nd Morgan Postlethwaite scoring 53. NP on the 9th was Harrison Laing.

Pairs Competition Winners – 1st Osca Gaitskell and Sam Stokes scoring 35 after 6 holes.

Group 3 Winners – 1st Aston McAloone and Lawson Williams scoring 54 after 9 holes.


For Jonah Rigg, it was a special day, celebrating his 8th birthday. Jonah received a gift from the Juniors, who all enjoyed the birthday cake provided by Nanna and Grandad.

Thank you to Casterton Golf Club for the use of their excellent facilities and hospitality, to Fussells Coaches and driver, Gusty, for safely, transporting our group, and finally to all family members and friends who travelled to Casterton in support of our youngsters.

Ladies Report
Twelve Dunnerholme Ladies travelled to Morecambe Golf Club for Lady Captains Away Day 2023.

They were joined, on arrival at club by DGC Life Members, Meg Tyson, Val Boyd (Readett)  and friends of Lady Captain – Leanne and Charlotte, who are members at Morecambe GC. 
Coffee and bacon buns were provided before the players moved out on to the course to play a Reverse Waltz and Yellow Ball competition. The threatened early rain stayed away and the game was played in blustery but dry conditions.

After the game the ladies enjoyed a two course meal in the Clubhouse followed by the Presentation.

Winners of the Reverse Waltz – Liz Dixon, Mary Doherty and Karen Currie scoring 80 points.

Winners of the Yellow Ball Competition – Angie Hill, Lynne Diggle and Christine Pearce.

Winners of Dummies – Paula Knott, Irene Brough, Lynda Preston.

The Dons Away day to Appleby

Dons 3rd Away Day, Appleby GC. 

Great day at Appleby. We managed to dodge the showers.The staff did a great job of catering for us even though they had no electricity.
