Frank Stokes Junior Trophy

Dunnerholme Junior’s braved the rain to compete for the Frank Stokes Junior Trophy 2023. Undeterred, 23 youngsters played just 4 holes of golf in terrible playing conditions, hampered by persistent rain and failing light. The conditions weren’t reflected in the scoring with only three points separating all the prize winners.

The winners, with a fantastic 30 points, were Morgan Postlethwaite and Arthur Brough. Runner up was Max Broome with 28 points. This was an outstanding achievement as this was Max’s first game back after injury, plus he was playing on his own. In third place were Finley Longmire and Rosie Chorley with 27 points. Morgan Postlethwaite was in great form, also taking the Nearest the Pin Prize. The Golf Etiquette award for behaviour on the course went to one of our newest members Rosie Chorley.
A great evening, again, in the clubhouse with refreshments and a wonderful prize table provided by the Stokes Family. Special thanks to all the family including Rachel Butler, Frank’s daughter, for presenting the trophies, Derek Clinton for his donations and to the Junior coaches and overseers for their support with team selections and out on the course. Junior member, Aston McAloone presented a bouquet of flowers to Janet Stokes on behalf of all the Juniors, thanking her and the entire Stokes family for their help and support since the section was reformed in 2021.
