Ladies Route Trophy 2023

The Route Trophy originated back in 2016 at Grange Fell GC and comprises of a 1 day team event, made up from the 9/10 hole clubs within the local area. The 2023 event was held again, at Grange Fell GC with teams of 5 players from Casterton, Dunnerholme, Grange Fell, Sedburgh and Silecroft taking to the fairways. The teams met for refreshments and bacon buns, before playing 18 holes of single Stableford competition – best four scores in each team, to count towards the final team total. The weather warmed up as the competition progressed, with the breeze keeping the players cool in the afternoon sun. A great team of ball spotters, supported the players throughout the competition, keeping the game flowing with no hold ups.
Teams gathered together in the clubhouse after the game, enjoying a delicious buffet meal. Grange Fell Club Vice Captain welcomed all the players to the presentation, commenting that this is what golf is all about – good golf, good friends, sharing good food! Every golf club should be encouraging this type of event to grow the game.

Winners of the Route Trophy 2023 were the home side, Grange Fell Golf Club with 158 points with Dunnerholme Golf Club runners up with 133 points. Congratulations to the Grange Fell GC Team and thank you for providing a great days competition.
