Lady Captain’s Day from start to finish was a great day. Everyone had hoped for fine weather, and we had that in spades. Halfway house was a welcome sight on the tenth. In the evening, Poppies of Ulverston served a delightful meal, and everything fitted beautifully with The Lady Captain’s Asian theme. (Climate included). Special mention must be made of Steve and Jean , Gills great friends from Luton, what an amazing contribution they made to the smooth running of the day. Last but not least, Ken, he was there, helping all day, behind the bar, behind the camera, behind the scenes, in the kitchen, putting up the Halfway house, and dismantling it, barman, handyman, porter, waiter, sommelier and chauffeur,
All done with incredibly good humour.
When Gill is involved with any event, you can guarantee there will be lots of fun and games, and Saturday was no exception. Many hours of planning must have gone into organising the whole day, and it was reflected in the wonderful atmosphere at the club. Renowned for her enthusiasm for enjoyment, Gill provided it. An exceptional day – Thank You Gill.
